I have finally got the foundation up and running! Hooray!
This has been a goal of mine for the last four years. It has been a dream come true for me to build, as well as set it up to help provide resources, education and awareness for those living with Sjögren’s syndrome and Lupus in Hawaii!
The board of directors along with the medical and general advisory boards have been working hard to get some projects together for 2016!
Plans are being discussed…….we are working on lectures for the outer islands, workshops, a walk, kids group, support group, fundraiser and many other exciting opportunities!
We will also work closely with the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii.
I wanted to share information with everyone about the foundation.
Mission statement – The Sjögren’s and Lupus Foundation of Hawaii will strive to meet the needs of those affected by both autoimmune diseases on all islands. Our goal will be to provide education, support and resources for people living with the disease as well as medical professionals, healthcare providers, families and friends. We will be working together in our communities to raise awareness to help those with Sjogren’s syndrome and Lupus to live life to the fullest one day at a time!
