Aloha and welcome to my blog! I am excited to share links for resources that can help you to be healthy and happy living with Sjögren’s syndrome and Lupus every day. My goal is to help those with an autoimmune disease as well as family, friends and medical professionals by providing a glimpse of everyday life with my blog and to help others have a better understanding of how we live our lives.
Helpful tips and education can help you think about how you might make changes and adjust to meet your life goals living with an autoimmune disease. Scheduling and being at your doctor’s appointments as well as having clear communication also add to a healthier you!
Personal stories about courageous, amazing people who have been on a journey with their diseases will help to inspire you to learn and reach goals you hope to achieve!
I was diagnosed with Sjögren’s Syndrome in February 2011.
I was sick and out of work for two and a half months in September –November 2010. As an RN, when I heard the diagnosis of Sjögren’s Syndrome, I was in shock! I was not familiar with this autoimmune disease and had no idea where to start to learn about it. As it started to sink in that I needed to get educated and figure out how to take care of myself, I turned to my physician.
Four years later after being diagnosed and three years since the first lecture in October 2011, I am launching my website. I have been on an amazing journey that has taught me so much that I want to share the wealth of knowledge and opportunity I have gained!
I myself have made many life changes over the past four years and continue to do so every day. I have made adjustments in my life on a daily basis which include eating, exercise (actually doing it), sleep, ATTITUDE, mindset and job! Being FLEXIBLE helps out a whole lot too. I have overcome anxieties that have helped me to be an overall HEALTHY and very HAPPY person today! I am excited to continue learning and making adjustments in my life that allow me to live to my fullest potential each day……….
I have met and worked with some amazing doctors, medical professionals and people affected by Sjögren’s syndrome and Lupus. Every day I experience something wonderful that makes me thankful for all that I have in my life! I want to share what I have and help others to take care of themselves to always be healthy and happy…………..Take Care! Melaca
