Wow…Another year has flown by and I have so much to be grateful for!!
It’s hard for me to even begin. It has been a very busy year for life in general and I have so much to be thankful for. I have definitely learned and grown in 2018 and am excited for 2019. The Sjögren’s and Lupus Foundation of Hawaii has a lot of exciting events coming next year and personally I have many hopes and dreams for my life too!
2018 started out a little slow for me and I really had no control over how things were happening for myself and my family. Life happens and that’s something we all need to learn to live with each and everyday. It’s how we choose to adjust to what’s going on and how we move forward from sadness, frustration and the “uncontrollable” as I refer to it.
I have worked so hard to live healthy and be happy every day since being diagnosed with Sjögren’s syndrome in 2011. I have been successful in managing my life, my health, my family and work. After being able to get my pertinent labs back to normal last year and feeling great, I have to work on how to manage the uncontrollables that come rolling into my life every so often. I’ve had a few this year and it’s been a learning experience for me. Trying to figure out how to not stress about it, but yet address the issue and move forward is something that takes a lot of hard work, focus and support! It’s all about balance and I continue to grow each day in this area of my life.
Words of Wisdom…“On the other side of our greatest fear is our greatest life”
